An exciting opportunity exists for a Building Custodian at our Vancouver programs of Atira Women’s Resource Society. We offer a challenging and rewarding work environment for women passionate about the work of ending violence against women and children. Understanding the dynamics of violence against women and children and the intersectionality of oppressions within a feminist framework and being able to apply this understanding in your day-to-day practice is mandatory.

Qualifications: Completion of a recognized Building Services Worker certificate program is required for this position. Maintenance skills and experience is an asset. Experience working with women affected by violence/ abuse and who may also be struggling with substance use, mental and spiritual wellness, poverty and homelessness; Must have a well-developed analysis of the impact/legacy of colonization and
assimilation and the resulting impact on First Nations, Métis and Inuit women; must be open to working with women who are struggling with substance use and/or mental & spiritual wellness; must understand and be at ease working within a harm reduction framework. We are particularly interested in applications from women who reflect the women who access our services and the women who reflect the diverse population of the Lower Mainland.

Part Time Helper - Flower Store

We are looking for help in our flower store. We are an online wedding floral provider and summers are busy. Your job will be making water wraps for sale in our store front, taking care of the plants, ringing in sales, taking phone orders and helping out with weddings when needed.

Part time – Tuesdays & Saturdays/can lead to more for the right fit.

• You must be a self starter, quiet but able to talk to clients who walk in.
• We do not push sales but discuss options with clients so they can decide.
• Floral knowledge is very helpful but not a must, for the right person we will train.
• It’s an asset to drive and have a vehicle. You must be available Tuesdays & Saturdays throughout the summer.
