Building Attendants primarily perform housekeeping duties as part of the Environmental Services team and may be required to perform basic maintenance and repair work such as unplugging sinks and toilets. At Taylor Manor, the Building Attendant is required to relieve other staff that has responsibilities for monitoring the doors and security systems.

Completion of Grade 12. Two years recent related experience. Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience and are eligible for a satisfactory criminal record check, have a valid first aid certificate or can obtain one.

Able to maintain a clean and organized work environment. Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing in English. Able to work with people with a mental illness. Able to work independently and in cooperation with others. Able to organize and prioritize. Able to operate related equipment and have the physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

The Housekeeper provides general housekeeping services to all Women and Children’s program common areas, resident rooms, vacated rooms and second stage transitional housing suites. The incumbent is responsible for preparing the dining room prior to meals and ensuring kitchens and food service areas are appropriately cleaned after meals.

Education / previous work experience:
• High school diploma (Grade 12 equivalent) is required
