Adult Day Care Program Co-ordinator

Qualifications are:

  • Diploma or university program in therapeutic recreation, social work, geriatrics, counseling or other social science or health-related discipline
  • 1-2 years of experience working directly with frail seniors in a therapeutic setting
  • Knowledge of frail seniors’ issues and how to foster independence and connections within a multicultural community program environment and in an Adult Day Program
  • Able to work collaboratively with culturally diverse residents, volunteers, co-workers and community service partners
  • Ability to lead a staff team and to develop and coordinate quality programs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (including ability to work with those whose English is a second language)

Under the direction of the Seniors Director, and as part of a team, areas of responsibilities include:

  • Works with the ADP Nurse in case management to include: intake, discharge, referrals, Handydart, caregivers, individual client support, program leadership and Risk Management
  • Works with the ADP Nurse, Vancouver Coastal health and Cedar Cottage neighbourhood House to plan and coordinate a staff training program that enables staff to successfully lead a quality Adult Day program

Support Worker - Part-time

Support Worker Qualifications are:

  • Providing assistant for the children who require extra support and facilitating their full participation in the preschool setting
  • Collaborating with the child`s family, classroom teacher and supported child care consultant to assist with planning and implementing strategies and activities that promote inclusion of the child in the preschool day
  • Following the Individualized Education Plans assigned to each child
  • Maintaining regular and open communication verbally and through detailed documentation with the child`s family, classroom teacher and supported child development consultant
  • Attending a minimum of two (2) meetings yearly, outside of working hours to discuss progress and goals for each child
  • Willingness to upgrade skills related to the support of the children who require extra support through attendance of professional development workshops and/or training with other professionals

ECE Educator - Full-time
