  • To assist with re-establishing the Kensington-Cedar Cottage Literacy Task Group and to offer

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a college or university program in early and/or adult literacy, early childhood
    education or community development is preferred.
  • Effective group facilitation skills.

Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House seeks an Early Years Childminder to work as part of the Early Years and Family Programs team, to plan, develop and deliver quality programs to families with young children, including vulnerable families. The Early Years Childminder will ideally be an Early Childhood Educator or be interested in pursuing a career in Early Childhood Care and Education. The Early Years Childminder work with the Early Learning and Family Development Worker on Saturdays (9:00 am to 1:00 pm) and on Thursday evenings (4:30 to 7:30 pm).

Qualifications

  • Completion of, or enrollment in, an early childhood education college or university program, or 20 hours of early childhood training.
  • Sound experience working with young children and families in a community setting.
  • Knowledge of, and experience planning, developing and delivering strength-based family programs
    in a community setting where young children learn and thrive.
  • Ability to lead and connect to families with young children from diverse backgrounds, in an inclusive, multicultural setting.

  • Keep the retail store stocked with Planters for sale in-store
  • Ensure the Outdoor Planter and Custom Design area is clean, tidy and well-stocked
  • Ensure plants are healthy and well cared for
  • Be available to provide assistance and knowledge to customers of outdoor plants and planters for various situations (sunny, windy decks, shade, light levels, etc.)

Qualifications:

BUILDING SERVICE WORKER

The Role: Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for janitorial and minor maintenance work for the building in order to provide safe, clean, and healthy work environment. In this role, you’ll work independently Monday to Friday: 4pm-12am, to maintain the building in pristine conditions to support the daily operations of the complex. In addition, you will perform minor repair and servicing tasks along with minor administrative duties that helps prepare business operations for the next day. Responsibilities:

  • Ensure building security during shift, checking for unlocked doors, and arming the building security system
  • Greet, sign in/out guests and visitors, collect and distribute security badges
